Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to residents of Kaluga Region on the opening of the full production cycle at PCMA Rus’ (Peugeot Citroen Mitsubishi Automobiles Russia) Kaluga Region automotive plant.
The message reads, in part:
“This event is convincing proof that the Kaluga Region automotive cluster, which has developed practically from scratch, is not only growing but is advancing to ever new stages of development. Production is becoming more localised and a full-fledged technology chain covering everything from making components to manufacturing some of the best-known global-brand cars in the world is in the process of formation.
Kaluga Region’s experience shows in full measure how important it is to have regional management teams that take the initiative, are effective in their efforts to create a favorable business climate and develop sites for opening new businesses, and give priority attention to training qualified personnel. This approach has brought visible results in the form of modern new jobs and additional budget revenue. Most important of all, it opens the way for rapid economic growth and raising people’s quality of life.”
