Vladimir Putin signed a list of instructions on developing the fisheries industry.
In particular, the instructions to the Russian Government concern mechanisms of state support for organisations in the fisheries industry operating fishing vessels built at Russian shipyards; fishing within the Russian Federation’s exclusive economic zone using fishing vessels that have not passed customs clearance on Russia’s territory; and the creation of a centre for monitoring prices for aquatic bio-resources in order to determine their true customs value.
Instructions to the Government also concern broadening scientific research on fishing in inland waters, including inland seawaters, in the Russian Federation’s exclusive economic zones, on Russia’s continental shelf and in the World Ocean beyond the borders of Russia’s exclusive economic zone, as well as the development of certain legal acts relating to the aquaculture and rights to harvest aquatic resources.
The Government has been instructed to approve a list of measures to implement national action plan for preventing, deterring and eliminating illegal fishing, and to finalise and approve the federal targeted programme on Improving the Efficiency of Use and Development of the Fisheries Industry Resource Potential in 2015–2023, which should include measures to resolve priority objectives in this sector.
