Ms Komarova briefed Vladimir Putin on the socioeconomic situation in the region, particularly with regard to the region’s industrial sector.
The Governor noted, in particular, that the Nyagan and Nizhnevartovsk hydroelectric power stations have brought third power units into operation, modernisation efforts in the timber-processing sector are producing results, agricultural production is on the increase, and there has also been an increase in oil production at fields with difficult to access resources.
Following the meeting, the President signed Executive Order On the Acting Governor of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area — Yugra. With Ms Komarova’s mandate coming to its end, the executive order appoints her acting governor of the region until an elected governor takes office.
