Presidential Aide and State Council Secretary Igor Levitin, together with Head of the State Council Commission on Industry and Tula Region Governor Alexei Dyumin, held a meeting of the State Council Commission on Industry, via videoconference.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Trade and Industry Denis Manturov, Kaliningrad Region Governor Anton Alikhanov, and representatives of regional and relevant federal government bodies and the business community.
The participants discussed import substitution in the production of high-tech medical equipment and exports of industrial produce.
The Minister of Trade and Industry spoke of the import substitution projects implemented in the science-intensive branch of the medical industry and the status of Russian industrial exports. He noted the importance of observing public health measures during the upcoming non-working days.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vasily Shpak spoke about what the ministry is doing to help meet the increased demand for high-tech medical products. The participants also discussed ways of supporting demand for high-tech medical equipment of Russian make.
The Commission reviewed prospects for developing exports of industrial produce and relevant support mechanisms.
Proposals made by participants will be evaluated by the Commission following the meeting. The best ideas will form the foundation for drafting proposals on improving legislation.
