Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the current and former workers of the Northwestern Regional Centre of the Almaz-Antey Aerospace Defence Corporation – Obukhov Plant on the 160th anniversary of the plant.
The message reads, in part:
“Talented and energetic people committed to the interests of the Fatherland – scientists, manufacturers and sponsors – pioneered the establishment of this plant. The implementation of that ambitious project was critical for the strengthening of the defence and energy potential of our country and for the development of science, technology and the strategic industries of our national economy.
It is notable that the current personnel deeply respect the history of their plant and the wonderful traditions of their predecessors. Today, the Obukhov Plant is a large and technologically advanced scientific and production complex based on world-class technology. The plant’s workers create and commercialise top-of-the-line weapons as well as military and special equipment, and make a substantial contribution to building up the country’s Armed Forces and ensuring national security.”
