Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to Articles 13 and 14 of Federal Law On Information, Information Technology and Information Protection, and to the Russian Federation Code of Administrative Offences.
The Federal Law introduces a requirement that hardware for IT systems employed by federal agencies, local governments, state and municipal unitary enterprises or municipal organisations, must be located in the Russian Federation.
