Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order On Providing Information Contained in the Documents Certifying the Identity of a Russian Federation Citizen, Using Information Technology.
This Executive Order was issued to improve the procedure for providing documents that identify citizens of the Russian Federation or other documents, using information technologies.
According to the Executive Order, provision of information from identification documents of a citizen, or other documents issued by state bodies, in digital form, using the mobile application of the Unified State and Municipal Services website federal state information system, is equal to presenting these documents in cases determined by the Government in agreement with the Federal Security Service.
According to the Executive Order, provision of this information using the mobile application is voluntary.
