Condolences to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev

June 9, 2016

Vladimir Putin sent his condolences to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev for the loss of Kazakhstani servicemen and civilians who were killed in a terrorist attack in Aktobe.

The message reads, in part:

“What happened shows once again that terrorism has no limits and poses a real threat to all nations on Earth. It is only possible to eradicate this evil by the concerted efforts of the entire international community. I would like to confirm Russia’s readiness to further consolidate its counter-terrorism partnership with Kazakhstan.”

The President of Russia asked Nursultan Nazarbayev to convey his sincere sympathy and support to the families and friends of those killed in the attack and wished speedy recovery to all those who were injured by the militants.

On June 5, a group of criminals conducted armed attacks on weapons warehouses and a military unit of the National Guard in Aktobe. Seven people were killed, including three servicemen. June 9 has been declared the day of national mourning for the victims of the terrorist attack.
