Executive Order on awarding state decorations

Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order On Awarding State Decorations of the Russian Federation.

In accordance with the executive order, Father Nikolai Kotelnikov, rector at the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God Church, an Orthodox parish in Derbent, was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage for his courage and self-sacrifice in his commitment to saving others during a terrorist attack, which cost him his life. Mikhail Vavilin, who worked as a guard at the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Makhachkala was posthumously awarded the Medal for Valour.

Twenty police officers received the Order of Courage, including 15 who received this decoration posthumously, for their courage, valour and devotion to duty while countering the terrorist attack in Dagestan.

In addition, ten police officers received the Medal for Bravery, 2nd degree, for their courage, valour and devotion to duty while countering the terrorist attack.
