Dmitry Medvedev announced that he has signed the Executive Order on developing the United Shipbuilding Corporation, which will see the transfer of participation stakes in some enterprises, shares and other properties to the corporation for operational management.
In particular, the corporation will now engage in some foreign trade deals in exports and imports of vessels, ship and other equipment, and leasing.
During the meeting Mr Trotsenko briefed the President on the corporation’s current activities, saying, in particular, that at the moment the company exports around 30 percent of its products and is in the process of building two large tonnage shipyards in the Far East.
In military shipbuilding the main task for the corporation is to start manufacturing a new range of models of ships and submarines, with their subsequent series construction.
There are also plans to develop a shipbuilding centre in the Caspian Sea region for the purposes of building offshore drilling platforms close to oil fields.
Besides, construction of an energy efficiency facility in Skolkovo innovation centre will be launched in July or August and completed next January.
