Vladimir Putin sent a message congratulating the faculty, students, postgraduates and graduate of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University on its 220th anniversary. The university is one of the oldest in Russia.
The message reads, in part:
“Your famous university is especially proud of the brilliant cohort of talented alumni who have made a huge contribution to the development of the national economy and medicine, education and science, literature and culture, and found their calling in the pedagogical, public, state and military service.
Today, KFU is a leading educational centre of Russia. The atmosphere of daring scientific research and strong student brotherhood is still dominant here, helping to achieve success in work and study, and realise the set plans. It is gratifying that, while maintaining established traditions, you embrace everything new. Experienced teachers and mentors, cutting-edge educational technologies, and a serious research base allow you to confidently look to the future, and unite talented, proactive, and ambitious young people in the main university of the Volga region.”
