Vladimir Putin signed an instruction on enhancing the general education system’s content.
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev shall monitor the implementation of a package of measures to systematically modernise general education content. This modernisation is based on the results of monitoring studies and takes into consideration advances in science and technology, changing demands among students and society, and a focus on making practical use of knowledge and skills in real life.
The instruction also concerns adjustments to federal state education standards and basic general education programmes in line with Russia’s science and technology development priorities, and also measures to integrate studies and general educational activity, reduce the extra-curricular burden on students by raising their motivation and getting them maximally involved in the education process, and using modern technology, teaching and educational methods.
