Dmitry Medvedev signed Federal Law On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation to Improve the Recognition of Academic Qualifications, Diplomas and Degrees.
The law sets forth that foreign university diplomas and qualifications governed by a corresponding international agreement, as well as academic documents issued by foreign universities that are on the list drawn up by the Russian Government, will be recognised on the Russian Federation territory without any further validation procedures.
The law also sets out the procedures for recognising academic documents in other cases.
Furthermore, the law determines the order for recognising foreign university degrees on Russian territory. The procedures are largely similar to those applying to foreign university diplomas and qualifications.
