Vladimir Putin discussed with Mr Kropachev the implementation of the university’s development plan through to 2020, the first stage of which was completed in 2012.
In particular, Mr Kropachev briefed the President on the establishment of 20 resource centres at the university to work in the priority research areas set out in the development plan, the creation of a unique information resource base, the situation with campus construction work, and the development of the university’s expert activities.
Mr Putin noted that, with its solid fundamental base, St Petersburg State University can make a big contribution to education and research work in Russia, as well as to the country’s economic development.
