Vladimir Putin had a working meeting with Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Yevgeny Kuyvashev to discuss the region’s socioeconomic development.
Mr Kuyvashev said that the highest growth is in aircraft manufacturing sector. A programme to develop defence industry companies is also being implemented with quite successful results.
Mr Kuyvashev noted that the region will launch next year a programme, Urals Engineering School, with a particular focus on raising specialists’ qualifications. The programme involves opening ongoing education resource centres and training centres. The programme will also work with students and schoolchildren.
