On October 3, Vladimir Putin will attend a plenary session of the 16th meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club on the subject The Dawn of the East and the World Political Order.
During the plenary session, the participants will review the intermediate results of the discussion of the East in a broad sense. The club has been expanding on this theme over the past year.
The discussion focusses on the East’s growing influence on the world order, issues of settlement in the Middle East, and cooperation in the Greater Eurasia and the Asia-Pacific regions. The participants plan to devote special attention to the Eastern direction of Russian foreign policy.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, King of Jordan Abdullah II, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte are to attend the plenary session together with the President of Russia.
Vladimir Putin is to have separate meetings with the heads of Azerbaijan, Jordan, Kazakhstan and the Philippines on the sidelines of the forum. The participants plan to exchange views on major bilateral and international issues.
Over 140 experts from 37 countries are expected at the meeting this year.

On October 4, at the Sirius Educational Centre Vladimir Putin will hold an expanded meeting of the Supervisory Council of Russia, Land of Opportunity.
The participants will review the work of the platform Russia, Land of Opportunity, review ideas for new projects for the platform and outline further tasks on its development.
The autonomous non-profit organisation, Russia, Land of Opportunity was established by a Presidential Executive Order of May 22, 2018.
Key tasks of the organisation: to create conditions for increasing social mobility and achieving personal and professional self-realisation, and to establish effective social lifts in Russia.
The Supervisory Council of Russia, a Land of Opportunity is headed by Vladimir Putin.
