Vladimir Putin congratulated students, teachers and tutors of Russia’s specialised secondary educational institutions on Vocational Education Day.
The message reads, in part:
“I want to cordially congratulate students and graduates of vocational and technical schools on Vocational Education Day and sincerely thank their teachers, tutors, and vocational training staff – all those who generously share their knowledge, skills, and experience with young people, and pay constant attention to the spiritual, moral, and patriotic upbringing of students.
It is gratifying that the prestige of trade jobs has increased in recent years and there is growing demand for them on the labour market. This is certainly a result of our joint efforts aimed at boosting the prestige of trade jobs, modernising specialised secondary educational institutions, and improving the standards of skilled personnel training. And, of course, much is being done to establish a close link between the curricula and the requirements of the real sector of the Russian economy.
It is important that the secondary vocational education system remains up-to-date, effective, and geared to attaining the national development goals, and that young people who opt for training at vocational or technical schools are confident of their good prospects and of the fact that they will come into their own, both in life and career-wise, and that they will be useful to their country.”
