Dmitry Medvedev signed Federal Law On Radioactive Waste Management and Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law is aimed at regulating relations in the field of radioactive waste management (RW).
The Federal Law introduces RW classification and sets forth the requirements to federal norms and regulations concerning RW management.
In addition, the law makes corresponding amendments to the federal laws On Natural Monopolies, On the Use of Nuclear Energy, On Environmental Protection and On the Rosatom Nuclear Energy State Corporation, as well as the Urban Planning Code and the Water Code of the Russian Federation.
