Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the 7th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues.
The message reads, in part:
“Growing interest in this annual event is convincing evidence of a serious desire to strengthen our partnership in resisting global challenges and threats and to develop consolidated approaches to international and regional security issues.
You will be discussing current issues that affect the interests of absolutely every country, and this is not an exaggeration. These issues primarily include combatting terrorism and militant extremism, transnational crime, illegal migration and drug trafficking, as well as issues of information security. I would like to stress that Russia is ready for the closest possible international cooperation in all of these areas, both on a bilateral and a multilateral basis.
I am convinced that this conference, which has brought together respected representatives from the concerned agencies from dozens of countries, will be constructive and substantive and that the results will be put to practical use.”
The 7th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues is being held in Grozny, Chechnya, on May 24–25. Such meetings are held every year in a Russian city at the initiative of Russia’s Security Council.
