Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants in the 25th anniversary Assembly of the Council for Foreign and Defence Policy.
The message reads, in part:
“Please accept my sincere congratulations on the 25 anniversary of the Council for Foreign and Defence Policy. Over the last quarter of a century, the Council has been studying key issues on the global, regional and national agendas, and sharing its interesting and useful insights and perspectives by bringing together Russian scholars, politicians, diplomats, military experts, representatives of the business community and civil society.
Research and discussions promoted by your institution have always been profound and multi-faceted, coherent and visionary. It is for this reason that the materials coming out of the Council for Foreign and Defence Policy, including papers published by Russia in Global Affairs magazine, are highly relevant for Russian agencies and academic institutions, and resonate abroad.
I expect the Council to keep up its analytical and awareness building efforts by proactively searching for solutions to the key challenges the world is facing today.”
