Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law On Amendments to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and Article 151 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation due to the adoption of the Federal law On Security of Critical Russian Federation Information Infrastructure.
The Federal Law introduces Article 2741 to the Criminal Code on unauthorised interference with the critical information infrastructure of the Russian Federation. The article establishes criminal liability for developing, distributing and using computer software or other computer information knowingly designed for unauthorised interference with the critical information infrastructure of the Russian Federation; liability for unauthorised access to protected computer data contained in the critical information infrastructure of the Russian Federation; liability for violation of the operating regulations for facilities storing, processing or transferring protected computer data contained in the critical information infrastructure of the Russian Federation.
The amendments to Article 151 of the Criminal Procedure Code concern preliminary investigation of criminal cases under Article 2741 of the Criminal Code.
