Dmitry Medvedev approved a list of instructions issued following a July 20, 2011 meeting with independent directors and government representatives within boards of directors and supervisory boards at companies with state participation.
Instructions have been issued to the Government, in particular, regarding drafting legislation on insuring the liability of independent directors, establishing procedures for independent evaluation of government representatives’ performance in boards of companies with state participation, as well as mechanisms of federal executive bodies’ interaction with independent directors and professional representatives.
Instructions are also related to recruiting and training candidates for independent directors and professional representatives, drafting and adopting policy documents by companies with state participation, and other matters.
