Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to participants in the 11th International Economic Summit Russia-Islamic World, which has opened in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan.
The message reads in part:
“Muslim countries are Russia’s traditional partners in promoting inter-civilisational and interdenominational dialogue and in the efforts to maintain security and stability at regional and global level. I am satisfied to note that our economic ties are also developing dynamically and becoming more and more diverse.
You will discuss topical matters regarding expanding cooperation in trade, investment, science and technology, culture and humanitarian sphere and coordinating efforts to resolve many acute social problems. It is important to consider ways to make the system of international economic relations more equitable and mutually beneficial and free from dictate and unfair competition.
I hope that your discussions will be detailed and fruitful, and that they will help chart new promising joint projects and initiatives and help further strengthen trust and mutual understanding between our nations.”
