Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law On Amending Article 3 of the Law of the Russian Federation On the Language of the Peoples of the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law is designed to improve the legal regulation of issues related to the preservation and development of the languages of ethnic minorities.
Under the Federal Law, the Government of the Russian Federation determines the procedure for approving the linguistic norms of the indigenous minorities of the Russian Federation, as well as the spelling and punctuation rules of their languages.
