The message reads, in part:
“An outstanding Russian opera singer, you have dazzled the audiences from the most prestigious stages on the planet and performed dozens of solo arias that have become world classics, while your joint performances with Mstislav Rostropovich left an indelible impression on millions of admirers.
Today you are doing a great deal to preserve and promote the rich traditions of the Russian opera school. Talented young people from Russia and around the world feel privileged to train at your Opera Centre. Your charity work and sincere desire to help people deserve the greatest respect.”
