The President congratulated Russia’s folk group Buranovskiye Babushki on taking second place in the 2012 Eurovision song contest and expressed his admiration for the talent and energy with which they performed their competition programme.
Mr Putin said their songs, including in the Udmurt language, are an excellent way to popularise Russia’s great cultural diversity.
