Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to the Law of the Russian Federation on the Principles of the Russian Federation Legislation on Culture and to Articles 9 and 121 of the Federal Law On Cultural Heritage Sites (Historical and Cultural Monuments) of the Peoples of the Russian Federation.
Under the Federal Law, the Government of the Russian Federation is to submit to both chambers of the Russian Federal Assembly an annual state report on the state of culture in Russia within the deadlines set forth by the said law.
In accordance with the Federal Law, the report shall be subject to publication and public discussion. It shall contain objective, systemised analytical information on the state of culture and the trends of its development, as well as information on the state of cultural heritage sites (historical and cultural memorials) of the peoples of Russia and state protection thereof.
