The President visited Alexander Shilov’s gallery and met with the artist.
Mr Shilov showed Vladimir Putin around the gallery, and then they had a conversation in an informal setting. The President presented Mr Shilov with a mantelpiece clock.
Mr Putin also sent the artist a message of congratulations, in which he said:
“Your work is well-known both in Russia and abroad. Your works in a wide range of genres are much loved by art lovers and grace the collections of many museums and private collectors. This level of recognition is your deserved reward for your inspired labour, skill as an artist, and dedication to your chosen road.”
