Dmitry Medvedev congratulated the staff of the Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Theatre of Russian Drama on the theatre’s 85th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“Over the years the theatre has presented bold artistic interpretations and staged the best performances of classical and modern drama. Not surprisingly, many outstanding, bright talents have been discovered here, and a galaxy of talented actors who made a great contribution to the performing arts.
Today, your creative team has won widespread recognition and reputation among the viewers as a custodian of the rich traditions of Russian theatrical school. Thanks to your efforts, the young generations of Russians and Ukrainians have the opportunity to join the glorious pages of our shared history and culture, and to feel the spiritual affinity between our fraternal peoples.”
