Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to participants and guests at the New Wave international contest for young pop singers.
The message reads, in part:
“Following tradition, the town of Jurmala welcomes young performers from many countries around the world. It is important that creative shows such as New Wave provide young people a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate their talents and remarkable abilities. They serve as a powerful springboard to launch performers to professional heights, teaching them to be innovative, purposeful, and confident in their abilities.”
The Eleventh New Wave 2012 international competition for young pop singers is being held in Latvia on July 24–29.
This year 16 participants from 14 countries will take part in the contest.
