Law settling issues related to holding the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition in Russia

May 23, 2015

Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Regulating Matters related to holding the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition in the Russian Federation in 2015, and Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation.

The law aims to improve Russia’s legislation concerning entry and exit to and from the Russian Federation of foreign citizens and stateless persons taking part as competitors or jury members in the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition and the matter of their being engaged in employment while in Russia for the competition.

To address these issues, the law amends a number of legislative acts so as to simplify entry and exit procedures for foreign citizens and stateless persons taking part in the competition, and allow for the signing of civil law contracts with competition jury members without granting them the right to work in the Russian Federation.
