Vladimir Putin congratulated the company of the Sovremennik Theatre in Moscow on its 60th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“The history of the legendary Sovremennik Theatre is intertwined with the artistic movement of an extraordinary team of like-minded people, talented actors and directors who set the highest bar of excellence and selfless devotion to art.
It is important that, while cherishing the traditions and legacy of the theatre’s founders, you are open to original and groundbreaking ideas and plans. This is why the theatre is in tune with the present and responds to the spiritual needs of the most sophisticated audience. The theatre is a true point of pride for Moscow and the entire country.”
