Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants and organisers of the 10th Moscow International Frederic Chopin Competition for Young Pianists.
The message reads, in part:
“Over the past years, this prestigious competition has become a spectacular, much awaited event in the cultural life of our country and other states. It has given the world a brilliant constellation of young and talented pianists and has played a significant role in its participants’ professional careers.
I am confident that the current competition will continue the established traditions, demonstrate a wide-ranging, intense programme and give young musicians a wonderful opportunity to take their first steps towards recognition, as well as help popularise the invaluable legacy of the great composer, teacher and performer Frederic Chopin.”
