Vladimir Putin congratulated the staff, students and graduates of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory on its 150th anniversary.
The telegram reads, in part:
“All who cherish our national historical, cultural and spiritual heritage and who value the great traditions of Russian art are together with you in celebrating this anniversary. Since its establishment in 1866, the conservatory has had a long creative existence rich in substance, and, thanks to the selfless dedication of generations of talented and devoted teachers and graduates, has become a unique and world-renowned music school and a major research and educational centre. The conservatory has always been known for its spirit of freedom and creativity; it lovingly preserves the legacy of its founders, and gives birth to and nurtures innovation.
I am certain that the Moscow Conservatory’s current team will continue to serve art’s lofty ideals with inspiration and open the road for young talent.”
