“Your project has an important mission, which is to commemorate the memory and preserve the great creative legacy of Galina Vishnevskaya, an outstanding representative of Russian and global musical art, a talented teacher and mentor. She always selflessly dedicated herself to the work of her life, sincerely cared about supporting young gifted musicians and made a great contribution to the development of the legendary traditions of Russian opera.

I am certain that the festival will be a big event in the country’s cultural life, will attract public attention and support aspiring opera performers.”

The first Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Festival celebrating the 90th birthday of distinguished opera singer Galina Vishnevskaya (1926–2012) takes place in Sochi on September 22–25.
