Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to participants, organisers and guests of the 30th Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF).
The message reads, in part:
“This annual celebration of books has long become an important and anticipated event for the country’s culture, public and spiritual life, and business. It also marks the beginning of a new academic year. Every year, the fair brings together a great number of participants, including representatives of the largest Russian and international publishing houses and book-trading companies, as well as the heads of the relevant ministries and agencies, book market experts and analysts. And of course, there are always many visitors, readers from all age groups and generations. They will be treated to meetings with writers, debates and roundtable discussions on creativity, as well as to the most recent and interesting fiction and non-fiction releases.
I strongly believe that this anniversary book fair will be a success; it will serve as a platform for professional networking and will also help promote books, and strengthen international humanitarian contacts.”
