Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the New Wave 2018 International Competition of Young Performers of Popular Music.
The message reads, in part:
“Over the past years, the competition has become an important and eagerly anticipated event for fans of popular music, and opened the doors to leading charts for many talented vocalists.
Sochi is once again welcoming young singers from Russia and other countries. The contest is an excellent opportunity for them to present their talent, to meet famous composers and musicians, and to fully experience the unique atmosphere of creative, friendly communication that the New Wave is known for.
I am confident that high profile events like this contribute to strengthening international humanitarian ties, and personal human contacts.”
The finale of the contest will be held in Sochi from September 4 to 9.
