Vladimir Putin sent greetings to participants, organisers and guests of a music festival devoted to the 100th anniversary of the Yurlov Russian State Academic Choir.
The message reads, in part:
“It is very important that the choir’s company is full of enthusiasm as it marks this significant date on rise and has a large number of new creative initiatives and projects.
By following the traditions of selfless service to music laid down by many generations of your predecessors, you introduce the audience to the rich heritage of Russian spiritual folk music and acquaint them with work of famous and undeservedly forgotten composers.
You are always in the centre of Russia’s cultural life, making it more interesting and richer. Naturally, you also bring joy to foreign audiences with your unique repertoire.
I am pleased to note that, in addition to concert tours, your company participates in implementing popular social, educational and patriotic initiatives and pays great attention to promoting choral art in this country.”
