Vladimir Putin wished a happy 80th birthday to Vladimir Menshov, actor, film director and National Artist of the RSFSR.
The message reads, in part:
“For many years, you have been devoted to your vocation enriching the legendary traditions of Russian cinematography with your creative work. The key secret to your success as a film director is your tireless and selfless work, your strong sense of relevance, your gift of finding topics that would appeal to audiences and inspiring talented and like-minded people with your ideas and vision.”
Winner of the USSR National Award and the Academy Award for the Best Foreign Language Film, Vladimir Menshov has played around 120 roles in films and television shows, and directed ten films.
