First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko chaired a meeting of the Coordinating Committee for holding contests for presidential grants for projects in the field of culture, art and the creative industries.
This year, the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives will distribute 3.5 billion rubles following the contest. The participants discussed the main approaches to organising the contest in 2021.
Vladimir Putin announced the creation of a specialised foundation to support cultural, art and creative projects in his Address to the Federal Assembly on April 21. The President instructed the Presidential Grants Foundation to establish the new structure and signed a relevant Executive Order on May 17.
The Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives was registered officially on June 1. Roman Karmanov became its director general.
