Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the Vladimir Mayakovsky Moscow Academic Theatre staff and company on the theatre’s centenary.
The message reads, in part:
“In the past years numerous generations of gifted actors, producers, artists and musicians have been fruitfully contributing with their enthusiastic work to the creative history of their theatre and to the progress of Russian culture.
It is gratifying that the Mayakovsky Theatre’s current company carries on with dignity the wonderful traditions of their predecessors and is firmly committed to the high mission of their art. Classical repertoire pieces and shows by young authors are produced on the theatre’s illustrious stage and daring and innovative projects are implemented.”
