Vladmir Putin sent greeting to the gathering marking the 65th anniversary of the Russia-China Friendship Association.
The message reads, in part:
”Over the past decades, this non-governmental organisation has brought together in its ranks prominent public figures, famous researchers, culture and education professionals. Working tirelessly for the benefit of our countries and peoples, it has earned a high reputation and become a truly essential and effective instrument of public diplomacy. More than 20 regional branches of the Friendship Association are active with implementing useful projects in various fields.
Much is done to develop humanitarian cooperation, expand twinning between cities and regions. Close attention is paid to attracting the Russian youth to studying the Chinese language, history and culture of China, as well as to disseminating and popularising scientific and educational literature.
I am confident that the Association’s multifaceted and creative work will continue to strengthen Russia-China relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation, as well as to preserve and multiply the traditions of friendship and neighbourliness that unite our peoples.”
