Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the 4th Congress of the Russian Literature and Language Society.
The message reads, in part:
“By consolidating the efforts of scholars, linguists, literary critics, teachers and public figures, your representative forum provides a venue for discussing a broad range of issues related to promoting the Russian language and introducing modern teaching methods, strengthening our common cultural and educational space, and encouraging the values of Russian education and literature. One of your key priorities is, of course, to enhance the role of the Russian language and literature in educating the rising generation. Deep knowledge of these vital humanitarian disciplines offers young people broad opportunities for personal and professional growth.
I am pleased to note that the society is doing a thorough and multifaceted job to attain these important large-scale goals. In particular, it organises scientific conferences and teachers’ forums, including international ones, and implements substantial education, information and enlightenment projects.”
