Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants and guests of the 22nd Golden Eagle National Film Award Ceremony.
The message reads, in part:
I would like to note that this ceremony is special – it is taking place in the centenary year of the legendary Mosfilm Studios. The spirit of creativity and bold innovation has always reigned supreme and the great traditions of domestic filmmaking have grown stronger within the walls of one of the country’s oldest film studios.
It is gratifying that the current generation of actors and film directors, artists and screenwriters carefully preserves the unique creative heritage of their predecessors. You are united by a devotion to your chosen profession, and a sincere striving to create substantive, interesting works in line with the strict criteria of true mastership and artistic taste.
I am confident that this ceremony will take place in a festive atmosphere and will produce a great, unforgettable impression on all those present. And of course, I would like to congratulate the winners on their impressive, well-deserved success.
