Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the 45th anniversary International Student Film Festival of the National State Gerasimov University of Cinematography (VGIK).
The message reads, in part:
“Your renowned forum, which was first held back in 1961, is rightfully considered to be one of the most memorable and successful projects in international humanitarian cooperation. By bringing together representatives of national cinema schools from many countries on its platforms, it has become famous for its remarkable traditions of friendship and mutual understanding, as well as a special, inspiring atmosphere of creative optimism. Of course, the real source of pride for the festival is the brilliant constellation of outstanding filmmakers who have been its laureates and winners over the years.
I am confident that the current festival will be held at the highest organisational and artistic level, uncover new talents and contribute to the professional development of emerging film directors, actors, scriptwriters and artists.”
