Dmitry Medvedev congratulated film director, screenplay writer, and holder of the title People’s Artist of the USSR Georgy Daneliya on his 80th birthday.
The message reads, in part:
”You put the full measure of your vivid talent into cinema, using your outstanding gifts as a director to bring memorable characters to life on the screen and draw the public into your heroes’ emotions. Your films, such as I Step Through Moscow, Mimino, Kin-dza-dza and others are known and beloved by millions and stand out for their depth and lyricism, subtle satire and fresh look at familiar everyday situations.“
Mr Medvedev issued an executive order awarding Mr Daneliya the Order for Services to the Fatherland II degree for his big contribution to developing Russian cinema and his long years of creative activity.
