Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Marlen Khutsiyev, film director, president of the Russian Guild of Film Directors and professor at the VGIK national cinematography university on his 85th birthday.
The message reads, in part:
“Your multifaceted talent, distinct creative style and masterful grasp of the film directing profession have earned you deserved recognition from colleagues and won the hearts of numerous viewers. Your films, which have become Russian cinema classics, remain popular today. Each of them tells a sincere story of people, their quests, and hopes.
You have earned a great reputation also as a talented teacher, and many well known actors and directors consider it a great honour to call themselves your students.”
