Dmitry Medvedev sent his greetings to participants and guests of the forum which is timed to coincide with the opening of the Year of Russian Culture and Language in Italy and the Year of Italian Culture and Language in Russia.
The message reads, in part:
“You are meeting to discuss issues of concern to young people in both countries. Such kind of open dialogue always helps us to get to know and understand each other better and gives us new opportunities for cooperating on and developing promising joint projects. Original and audacious vision and bold initiatives are inherent to young people after all and are very important and very much needed today in this era of new technology and innovation.
This year is special for Russian-Italian relations. We are holding the Year of Russian Culture and Language in Italy and the Year of Italian Culture and Language in Russia. It is pleasing to see that your forum is getting these ambitious projects off to a good start. With hundreds of events aimed at expanding humanitarian ties and developing youth and student exchanges, these projects will without question mark a major milestone in strengthening the traditional friendship between our peoples.”
