Dmitry Medvedev sent his greeting to participants in the North Sea Route Towards Strategic Stability and Equal Partnership in Arctic Region international conference.
The message reads, in part:
”The Arctic is a region rich in mineral reserves and it’s also home to the shortest shipping route between Europe and Asia, the North Sea Route. For these reasons, the sustainable and stable development of the region, based on the principles of cooperation and unconditional respect for international law, is of paramount importance.
Russia is ready to further contribute to preserving the Arctic's unique nature and implement joint international projects in the transport and mining industries. I hope that the initiatives elaborated during your meeting will help us accomplish these goals.“
