Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on Cooperation in Joint Controls over People, Vehicles and Goods on the Russian-Ukrainian State Border.
The Agreement, which was signed in Donetsk (Ukraine) on October 18, 2011, aims to make crossing the Russian-Ukrainian state border more convenient.
The Agreement’s provisions set out the basis for cooperation in carrying out joint border checks, including checking people and vehicles, detaining those violating the border, carrying and using special equipment and using service dogs by Russian border officials on Ukraine’s territory, and by Ukrainian border officials on Russia’s territory.
